The oldest and the largest
Music Educators Society in Korea, KMES, will be hosting 2023 APSMER Conference
in Seoul.
Asia-Pacific Symposium in
Music Education Research (APSMER) was co-founded in 1997 by Professors Lee
Hongsoo in Korea, McPherson in the United States, and Murao in Japan. Music
educators in Asia-Pacific regions have engaged in research presentations and
seminars, and members come from Japan, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau,
Taiwan, US, Australia, Thailand, and Singapore.
Biannual APSMER Conference
has been held in Bangkok (2007), Shanghai (2009), Taipei (2011), Singapore
(2013), Hong Kong (2015), Melaka (2017), Macau (2019), Japan (2021). 2023
APSMER will be held in Seoul.
Professors Lee Hongsoo and
Kim Youngyeon have served as board members, and Professor Yang Jongmo is
currently Korean representative of the Board.
KMES is excited to host 2023 APSMER in Seoul, and look forward to an
engaging conference.
