Manuscripts submitted to the journal must address topics related to music education and its applications, and should contribute to the advancement of music education.
Manuscripts that are under review or have already been published in another journal will not be considered. The final responsibility for the content of the published paper rests solely with the author(s). Only one manuscript per person may be submitted for each issue, regardless of whether the individual is the first author, corresponding author, or co-author. If a person is listed as an author on multiple manuscripts, all but one will be automatically rejected.
All submitting authors and co-authors must be lifetime members of the Society. Invited contributions are exempt from this requirement.
The journal was published biannually until Vol. 39 (December 2010), three times per year in 2011–2012, and has been published quarterly since 2013. From 2013 onward, each volume consists of four issues (No. 1, 2, 3, 4). The submission deadlines and publication dates are as follows:
Issue | Submission Deadline | Publication Date |
---|---|---|
No. 1 | November 30 (previous year) | February 28 |
No. 2 | February 28 | May 31 |
No. 3 | May 31 | August 31 |
No. 4 | August 31 | November 30 |
Deadlines may be adjusted depending on circumstances such as urgent submissions or additional calls for papers.
The Editorial Board determines acceptance and order of publication. To promote timely dissemination of research, accepted papers may be published online in the OnlineFirst system prior to assignment of volume, issue, and DOI.
Authors must submit manuscripts via https://kmes.jams.or.kr and pay a review fee of 90,000 KRW to the designated account (Woori Bank 1002-358-798957, Account holder: 박송희).
